Misty -The Jazz Jousters Meets Bob Brookmeyer

Misty – The Jazz Jousters Meets Bob Brookmeyer
The Jazz Jousters return with a follow up to their ‘Chet Baker Tribute EP’ as they have just completed Lab Off session #2 to showcase some of the group’s talent and love of Hip Hop Jazz and Jazz orientated music.
However, this time the Jousters are paying homage to the late great Bob Brookmeyer, and as a sample source they used his version of the classic ‘Misty’, which Bob (Valve Trombone) played alongside the likes of Stan Getz (tenor sax), Gary Burton (vibraphone), Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (bass) and Elvin Jones (drums), all of whom made up the ‘Bob Brookmeyer Sextet’ in 1964.
Once again we have a mix of talented international producers such as; Mr. Moods & Erik Jackson, Diligent Fingers, Skinnista, Joe Davies, DRTYDRDZ, Gadget, Elyon, Es-K, B 3 N B i & Blue Buttonz.
‘Misty’ also features vocals from Emma Louise, Gadget & Awakening Dawn on the closing track which makes this the first project to incorporate some of the vocal artists within the Millennium Jazz online community that is, The Jazz Jousters.

The Jazz Jousters - The Chet Baker Tribute EP
The project features versions from the likes of international beatsmiths such as, Mr. Moods, DRTYDRDZ, Joe Davies, Blue Buttonz, Gadget & B 3 N B I who all bring various ingredients and leave us with this flavorful little dish on the table for the taking.
‘Almost Blue’ is the first and probably not the last mass collaboration project to come from the Jazz Jousters group as this was a result of only a small number of their community of musicians, poets, emcees, Dee Jays, producers and music lovers.

Gadget - Mr Yancey Tribute EP - FREE DOWNLOAD
"For years I've said to myself I should do a little something and pay homage to the big man whom I found so inspirational, so this year *2012* I did. This was done over a five day period between commitments. I just switched on the mic, vibed out and recorded some old, new and unheard lyrics as well as some on the spot freestyles and hooks. I hope you can "get down" with it!" - Gadget Millennium Jazz Music 2012 Recorded, mixed, mastered and vocals by Gadget

Roy Ayers Project: Beat Submissions Compilation Vol. 3
The Roy Ayers Project release third installment of their beat submissions compilation.
"We are proud to announce our 3rd installment of our Beat Submission Compilation, which features talented producers from all over the world sampling the vast catalog of Roy Ayers, as he is a proven inspiration to musicians, producers, dj’s and beat makers world wide. Since this is our 3rd compilation, and we have released the other two compilations exactly four months apart, that means that we have been doing our beat submissions process for an entire year! When we started the call for submissions, we knew we would get some great material, but who would have thought that we would have received enough material to release a different instrumental every week for over a year and counting? Not only have we had the blessing of exposing some great talents, we have also made some friends along the way, developing some great relationships with some of our participants. It has been a pleasure to be able to feature these producers’ great work, as well demonstrate the magnificence of Roy Ayers’ music and it’s ability to transcend cultures, languages, and nationalities. The beat submission compilations are proof of just that." - Roy Ayers Project

Sirael - The Sorcerer EP Launch

A big show went down last night at Club 333, Old St, Shoreditch... big up to Sirael on the launch of 'The Sorcerer' EP!!
It was a packed out Jazz, Latin and Junlge DnB party which was kicked off by the ‘7Suns’ band opening up for Sirael, her band and seasoned guests including vocals from Sofia Rubina... (Estonia), Trumpet from Abraham Wilson, followed by a small beatboxing segment which progressed into more of Sirael’s yet to be released material as the crowd cheered and danced through the assortment of Jazz and DnB. After the band was introduced and each performed a flawless solo the crowd and band members interrupted the show momentarily to sing (and play) “Happy Birthday Sirael” before she closed the performance with the EP title track ‘The Sorcerer’, then mingling with her guests and fans. The party continued strong into the early hours and concluded with a bass heavy two hours of old skool Jungle DnB back to back set from DJ Smiley & Gadget.
Free copies of ‘The Sorcerer’ EP were available on entry and throughout the night. If you’d like a copy make contact at http://songbirdlondon.co.uk/
