Cooly's Hot Box - Choice Cuts

Found this lovely album while following a link off of 'The Beat Inn'. Really funky and down to earth vibes on this project. I'd recommend this to anyone give this a listen!

Roy Ayers Project: Beat Submissions Compilation Vol. 3

The Roy Ayers Project release third installment of their beat submissions compilation.

"We are proud to announce our 3rd installment of our Beat Submission Compilation, which features talented producers from all over the world sampling the vast catalog of Roy Ayers, as he is a proven inspiration to musicians, producers, dj’s and beat makers world wide. Since this is our 3rd compilation, and we have released the other two compilations exactly four months apart, that means that we have been doing our beat submissions process for an entire year! When we started the call for submissions, we knew we would get some great material, but who would have thought that we would have received enough material to release a different instrumental every week for over a year and counting? Not only have we had the blessing of exposing some great talents, we have also made some friends along the way, developing some great relationships with some of our participants. It has been a pleasure to be able to feature these producers’ great work, as well demonstrate the magnificence of Roy Ayers’ music and it’s ability to transcend cultures, languages, and nationalities. The beat submission compilations are proof of just that." - Roy Ayers Project

Sinuous - Throwbacks

Artist/Producer, Sinuous laces us with 'Throwbacks' which is a collection of tracks that he say's "..didn't make the official releases...", and wow what a collection. This brotha has been one of my favorite producers/artists since I first stumbled upon his music three or so years ago. For me Sinuous takes Hip Hop/Jazz to a new level by keeping a classic Jazz feel as well as keeping the head nodding raw Hip Hop elements without compromising either ingredient. For an example see In The Lab pt2 featuring Sinuous building beats in his studio. Otherwise download 'Throwbacks' via the links below ...I highly recommend this one!!

Bradata presents.. Last Memories Podcast

Bulgarian producer, Bradata stepped away from the boards and compiled us a very nice selection which he calls the 'Last Memories' podcast. Again, a very nice selection that while typing this has me on my third listen since downloading it just over a week ago. As much as I hate to pigeon hole, this sits comfortably in the realms of Trip Hop, Ambient and Lounge. If this is your thing then like me you'll have 'Last Memories' setting the mood for several occasions.
