WHAT IF DILLA PRODUCED THE BLUEPRINT?

Originally posted and words by Truth...
A few years back, rumours started surfacing that one of Dilla's infamous beat CDs had made its way into the hands of none other than Jay-Z.
If the Jiggaman HAD used any of Dilla's beats, what would they have sounded like?
Well, here's a chance to hear what might have been. Using some of Dilla's best beats, and the vocals from the groundbreaking and critically acclaimed "Blueprint" album,
DJ Jimmy Green has re-arranged the Blueprint into a glimpse of what might have been if these two musical legends had collaborated.
Note:
Make sure that you BUY Dilla CDs - don't illegally download! Make sure that Ma Dukes gets her dues.
You can get most of these instrumentals from official, legal channels - if you like them then don't download for free. Money needs to go where it's due.
This is not intended to be a substitute for Dilla's work, or The Blueprint album - there's no profit involved and it won't affect sales of either artist.
PS If you haven't got it already, go and buy the Blueprint, it's amazing.

Wizard - Wizstrumentals

This is basically a collection of beats (44 to be precise) that Wizard produced for various known, and up and coming artists. So yes, they are all backing tracks to previously released songs, although Wizard says: "if you wana use ONE for a mixtape or sumin go head just make sure it sez produced by wizard onit". And why the hell not? This young brotha has been putting his work in for sometime, and trust me you'll find some real good work here.

Be One - AXIOM 88 Bars

"All hail the Queen" ..we're in the presence of a very focused individual known as the one and only, Be One. An Mc, Producer, Arranger, Poet, Teacher and Mother coming out of Harlem. Always keen to eat up heavyweight productions with her relentless delivery and an arsenal of styles be it on her own or with her 'Royal Pack Crew'. 'AXIOM 88 Bars' proves this fact in fine style as Be One works the mic over a mixture of productions courtesy of Zambo Beatz, VII THE GREAT, Cerebral Hyper, Gadget and Presto (to name a few).

Dusted Off: K15 presents '18 Minutes In Bollywood'

Something very different this time round on the Pod front. I was sent this Podcast by Jazz Cafe DJ/Producer K15 as he dug deep and created a window that brings Bollywood into earshot for eighteen minutes. It may or may not be eveyones cup of tea, but I found this to be an easy listen. Also recognised one or two parts sampled by the likes of Madlib etc.
"A very small yet special Bollywood mix, inspired by: R.D Burman S.D Burman Kishore Kumar A.R Rahman Kalyanji Anandji and countless others who contributed to making glorious "filmi music." Listen, enjoy and share." ..say's K15!!

Promatic - Tender Dinner Blues EP

Now we step to the Korean Republic for the sounds of Promatic aka Moldig. This EP has some refreshing and laid-back music to have bumping in the background of a small gathering or while you're just taking a time out. Evidently, Promatic was deep in the Jazz crates for this little number. Recommendations? Pro's 'Whatever You Say' Remix of Little Brother. Enjoy!!

Dan Bull - Safe

"Safe" is a very fitting title for this one as it's quite the treat and you're in very 'safe' hands with a Dan Bull project. This is a very easy and soothing listen and I believe that this is one of the most well rounded artists you'll come across. Mr Bull holds down all of his own productions, he sings, plays the Guitar and he raps with such an ability that to simply say "he raps" leaves me feeling like I haven't told the whole truth.
I highly recommend 'Summer' which is one of my all time favorites from this artist.
UK residents can mail order the album on CD for £5 [free p&p] at Freshnut/Shop/
If you live outside the UK, you'll be able to mail order CD copies in the very near future from:Dan Bull @CD Baby
Download the album for free in mp3 format [128 kbps] at Megaupload

Jimmy Crackstar - Teeth EP

Teeth EP (if I'm not mistaken) is Jimmy Crackstar's second release. The first being the 'What Were You Expecting' EP that sits on the shelf before me ;0) I've always had alot of respect for the young brotha, from way back when he and partner in rhyme Suicyde use to be double teaming battlers. But hey, back in now... this time round Jim experiments with his hands deep in the Jazz crates and moulding some classic and old skool breaks into that Jimmy Crackstar funk. Only two features on this one, from the likes of good friend Imranimal of the Shedmen, and Pez from Skrimshank.
1. Teeth
2. The Bad Side of Being Good
3. Talk is Cheap ft Pez
4. Mother Sun Complex
5. You Don't Have to Listen Interlude
6. On My Mind
7. Popular Vultures ft Imranimal
8. We All Fall
